[People who challenge] Interview with Katsuaki Sato, a man active in three fields: agriculture, Yoshiwara Kagura, and town planning

■ Face ③: Katsuaki Sato, a "town development player"

-In the first entrepreneurship training program sponsored by MOG, we participated as an advisor in the field of agriculture. What did you think of Mr. Hayashida, a migrant candidate, who wanted to start a new farm in Minamioguni?

With the number of farmers decreasing in the local area, I was glad and encouraging that young people were particularly interested in this land.

-Mr. Hayashida chose Minamioguni here, as he has options all over Japan. What do you expect?

I think the style of agriculture he wants to do is very compatible with the style of "circular farming" here. If you live your life comfortably and comfortably here, other people will want to be like this. I want you to do such agriculture, and I want to be so too.

― What exactly do you want to be?

I don't like going out to work because I like it (local young people), and I think that not many people go out because they have no work.
In short, I think it would be best if I could live here, but it is difficult at present.
Therefore, I hope that people like me and Mr. Hayashida will be able to make a solid living base through agriculture unique to Minamioguni and have fun doing it.
"I'm cool doing Aso agriculture!"

-Lastly, please tell us what you would like to challenge and future prospects.

What I want to try ... Hmm ...
Whether it's agriculture or kagura, it would be nice to be able to connect to the next person in a proper way. I want to create an environment where the next generation of people want to do agriculture and Kagura.
When the people who want to do it have an environment where they can do that, people will come back or leave the town, and the town will be established.
For that purpose, I want to enjoy first of all, whether it be agriculture or kagura.
“Enjoy in the given environment”. I want to continue that anyway.

-Please continue to show us how you can work on the agriculture of Aso and Minamioguni and Yoshiwara Kagura in a fun and cool way. Thank you for your time today!

Mr. Katsuaki has been engaged in various activities in various fields in the region because of his personality and strong sense of responsibility that cannot be refused if requested. What impressed me was that there was no extra strength to say, "I'll do this!" I felt that what I enjoyed in nature, attracted and involved people with nature and caused interesting chemical reactions.
I hope you will continue to practice the “cool” Aso and Minamioguni lifestyles that are typical of Katsuaki.
