Sending road-themed information from Minamioguni Town: clip 2 Mazeno Mystery Road

Hello. This is siy.kawasaki. This series is based on the theme of "Road".Aso has many fun roads for car and motorcycle enthusiasts. And the scenery of the road is majestic and in a great location.I am returning as a biker, and I am planning to send out information from the tourism association in Minamioguni Town.

This time, I will tell you as the second article, continuing from the first article, "The pass going up to Daikanbo."
From inside the caldera, run up the pass and climb the northern caldera, then head north on National Route 212, and after about 5.5 km you will find the entrance to Mazeno Mystery Road.
This is a tricky road, to say the least.A medium-speed winding road with ups and downs while corners continue to the right and left. It's a fun road for drivers and riders who like to run. However, there are bumpy sections and sections with lateral seams, so safe driving is necessary more than usual.

With Daikanbo on your right, if you head north on National Route 212, the altitude will gradually decrease while you can see the Kuju mountain range in the distance. This place, which can be said to be on the table of the so-called north somma, is a route that runs to Oguni-go along relatively gentle curves in the undulating grassy hills.

As far as the eye can see, pastures (meadows) with a few trees continue. In the photo, fresh green buds are starting to appear after the field burning.

From National Route 212, look for the information sign for Oshitoishi no Oka, turn left and enter.

There is a signboard, and as you enter, you will begin to descend at the left curve.

You can see the winding road ahead. This is the start of a route that runs about 10km through a beautiful natural landscape.

It goes on like this. But it's hard to see the ups and downs in the photo.I don't think there are many windings where vertical G is applied or lost.

This is the entrance to the Mazeno Valley, where the valley of nature is a masterpiece.Open seasonally in spring and autumn.Gradually it became famous.See also the MAGAZINE article.

This is the place that collapsed in the previous heavy rain disaster. The long-awaited reopening was achieved on March 23, 3 after it was closed to traffic. The slope of the hill slid down, swallowing the road and flowing into the stream. The scene is still visible today.

This is the entrance to the Kounose campsite. There was a problem due to the road closure, but it is now accessible again from this road.

The tip of Mt. Aso begins to appear.

I came to a four-cornered intersection.

I arrived at the Nishiyuura Enchi Observatory on the opposite side of the intersection. There is a restaurant Kitayama, and the Baikudon (Bike Don) is popular with bikers.
